The Mandelbrot Set is....
Ginkgo
Dreaming Among the Jade Clouds
"In my imaginary world, I write with pomegranate ink as I watch the cats chase kaleidoscope lace. Mostly I'm down to earth, though. I fill my entries with my photographs and thoughts and dreams and sometimes just what I've done that day or the cats' antics. I keep this journal for myself, having progressed from big black sketchbooks to an electronic media, but have found that there is a great deal of joy in sharing my life with strangers who in so many cases become friends."

Catherine
The Naked Eye
"Baring myself and what's important to me so that those I love will have a scrapbook that I made. Something of me. I try to describe the things that matter to me. And say why. When I can't say why I try and show why."

Iko
The Mind's I
"The online journal of a 23 year old botanist web developer/programmer/designer. The definitely nerdy, often quirky, sometimes rambling, and never normal proprietress updates it as frequently as her hectic schedule allows."

Mirla
Mirmaid Fathoms Deep
"artist, writer, actor, dancer, poet, composer, teacher, baker, lover, lunatic mirmaid journalling stories and dreams for the imminent billenium"

Scott
Medea's Memoirs
"The journal of a young doctor and comic artist wanna-be who is obsessed with drawing women. Likes to pretend a lot too. "

Ceit
Book of the Amber Dragon
"Welcome to my journal, which isn't about butterflies and unicorns and such. It's about me, an anthropology/computer studies undergrad trembling on the verge of going into a Masters' in Archaeology, happily playing with bones and harried by her two demonic cats."

Julie
Cerebrations
"Writing about whatever strikes my fancy. Sometimes day-to-day life, sometimes topic oriented."

Heidi
Soignée
"The essence of me."

Steve

Jessi
A Tangerine Girl
"Watch creativity collide with technology with sometimes pleasing results as an artist tries to come to terms with life, love and a computer. "

Thetis
The Clockworks
"Musings about my life, sprinkled with random philosophical ramblings. Updated somewhat less than in keeping with the title..."

Kathryn
Glass Paper
"The things I see, the street I work in, the town I live in. Glass Paper introduces more than just myself. My friends, my ideas, my whole environment. Each entry is carefully considered: Is it honest? Is it readable by others? Is it not just another page cluttering the web?"

Al
Nova Notes
"I chose Nova Notes mainly because a nova means a "new star", and my journal is always kept new, updated (usually) daily. I like to vary it quite a bit...not JUST being about being the father of autistic children, not JUST about the many books I like to read, not JUST about my day-to-day life, not JUST a vehicle for recalling my past life, an autobiography-in-progress, but whatever interests me at the moment. Only that way can you keep me in mind as a full person, rather than just part of me. I treat it as a daily column of whatever interests me. I think of my drawings as illustrations to accompany the text, but the text always comes first. (And I like the way the drawings are very retro in a Photoshop world.) The entries I enjoy most are the ones that celebrate 'eucacatastrophes', in Tolkien's words...joyful accidents, good beyond hope, joy more poignant than grief...hard to write, most satisfying when you do."

Willa
Willa's Journal
"Willa's Journal. Really more of a scrapbook than a journal, lately. A place to record my dreams, to paste in photographs, to try out new techniques, to play. Along with a daily journal entry, recent additions include Mood Swings, a calendar of daily photographs; Tea Leaves, a fun divination site that gives amazingly good advice; and Willa's Photo Album, a brand-new gallery of readers' photos. I just quit my office job to be a full time web designer for awhile, so look out!"

Steve
Late Night Snacks
"An entertaining and unusual journal by Steve. A nice, cozy place to raise my words and images. I will know it when I see it, and I will stop when it is done."
