Of all the Butterflies on Maya, the Glasstail Butterfly is the most refered to in the ancient stone carvings of the civilization that lived here. Although many cults formed around many butterfly species, the Glasstail always was found carved nearby any religous figure. This has indicated to us that it was a symbol indicating the person was a shaman. 

Finding this butterfly is not difficult since its flight is accompanied by the sound of distant, glass windchimes. It is quite beautiful to hear, though when it is threatened these sound are quite painful to the ears. We have found no subspecies.
