Did the knights of Arthur know their deeds
would be read by all in legend?
Did they know their names would echo true
to all who would good defend?

Were their stories written before their eyes
their roles decided for them?
Why else would men forsake so much
if their tale could be forgotten?

In all of life, great stories lie
down paths of gold and sand
Is it so bad to seek these out
if our children sing songs of Roland?

Tis best to always keep in mind
your story as it is written
Be always sure the role you play
is the hero that yourself would pen.

And long ago on Camden Fields
the knights surround their fallen sire
and ask who wrote that Arthur must die
As we do now before the fires.

The 3rd Avalon Guards was made up of a special production run of Bolo Mk XXX's for the defence of the planet Avalon. The citizens there named them all after Arthurian Knights, starting with Unit QTA (Arthur). Unfortunately, the opening exchanges in the Melconian War destroyed Avalon, and Unit QTA was one of the first to die in its defence. Afterwards the Division was incorporated into the Concordiat and distinguished itself as the 680th Armored Division.
