Toad Island is a massive success. Both our toads have moved in and seem very happy hanging out in there. One is on the lower level looking out one of the "windows", and the other is
perched on the upper level by a "skylight". They're sailing happily past the waterlilies. Maybe they imagine themselves as little toads in a James Bond movie with their mobile island. The
bad guys in those movies had the neatest toys. Our fiendish toads are floating around the pond in their yacht--which is diabolically disguised as an island, terrorizing small insects. Even
James Bond will not be able to triumph over our nefarious toads, so cleverly camouflaged is their secret headquarters. "Muhahahaha!" chortle our toads.
("When are you going to grow up?" "Never. Now go away, I'm busy toad-watching.")
("What do you write about in your journal?" "I write about toads. Non-stop toads. Now go away, I'm busy writing about toads. Dreaming Among the Jade Clouds: a tale of two toads.")
I just saw the most incredible giant blue dragonfly. It was huge and an electric sort of cobalt blue. Gorgeous.
It rained for half of the day, then the sun came out and here I am, hanging with the toads. The water clover plants are getting big again and the water is glittering around them like tiny stars
twinkling among their green leaves. And the only things on my mind are toads, the beauty of the pond, and the joy in lazy summer days spent thinking lazy summer thoughts. Basically, I'm feeling
incredibly decadent and happy. And quiet. Be wery quiet...I'm watching toads.

Welcome...to Toad Island!
(ominous background music)
(spying on the toads...)
Considering how much time I've spent observing toads lately, I thought perhaps I should rename all of my journal volumes and some of my websites.
Lessee, now, if I did, there would be....
Ginkgo's Pile of Toads
(yes, that's rather appropriate)
Dreaming Among the Jade Toads
(well, I do have a jade frog...)
Always Tripping Over Toads
(hmm, mentally, at any rate)
Paper Toads Floating on the Lake Like Toads
Paper Lanterns Floating on the Lake Like Toads
Paper Toads Floating on the Lake Like Lanterns
(hmmm, I like all of those, although they are rather bizarre)
Yes, I Was Raised by Toads on Mars
(ah, that might explain it)
The Charge of the Toad Brigade
Warm Fuzzy Toad
Floating on a Twilight Toad
The Toad Ballet
The Toad Cafe
Pomegranate Toads and Kaleidoscope Toads
Toad Ink and Toad Lace
(certainly are a lot of them today)
The Secret Toad
The Toad Pond
(that it is)
Ginkgo's Cyber Toad Adoption Agency
(no, you can't have my toads. my toads, mine!)
The Mandelbrot Toads
The Toad Set
and, of course:
The Hall of Toads
Perhaps other websites will get caught up in the Toad Fever. Is that so much for a couple of little toads to dream
about? Yes, I can see it now....
The Toad Project
The Meyhem Toad
The Toadherder Chronicles
The Toad Chronicles
or maybe even
The Goatherder's Toad
Toads of the Gus
Musings of the Toad

Toad (Not Frog)
or perhaps a zen aphorism:
Toad (Not Toad)
....... just toads .......
Toad Creek Journal
Blackberry Toad Journal
(I just named the first few which came to mind and lent themselves easily to Toad-izing.)
A few useful bookmarks....
National Toad and Frog Administration
