Toad Island is a massive success. Both our toads have moved in and seem very happy hanging out in there. One is on the lower level looking out one of the "windows", and the other is
perched on the upper level by a "skylight". They're sailing happily past the waterlilies. Maybe they imagine themselves as little toads in a James Bond movie with their mobile island. The
bad guys in those movies had the neatest toys. Our fiendish toads are floating around the pond in their yacht--which is diabolically disguised as an island, terrorizing small insects. Even
James Bond will not be able to triumph over our nefarious toads, so cleverly camouflaged is their secret headquarters. "Muhahahaha!" chortle our toads.

("When are you going to grow up?" "Never. Now go away, I'm busy toad-watching.")
("What do you write about in your journal?" "I write about toads. Non-stop toads. Now go away, I'm busy writing about toads. Dreaming Among the Jade Clouds: a tale of two toads.")
I just saw the most incredible giant blue dragonfly. It was huge and an electric sort of cobalt blue. Gorgeous.

It rained for half of the day, then the sun came out and here I am, hanging with the toads. The water clover plants are getting big again and the water is glittering around them like tiny stars
twinkling among their green leaves. And the only things on my mind are toads, the beauty of the pond, and the joy in lazy summer days spent thinking lazy summer thoughts. Basically, I'm feeling
incredibly decadent and happy. And quiet. Be wery quiet...I'm watching toads.

random silliness
Considering how much time I've spent observing toads lately, I thought perhaps I should rename all of my journal volumes and some of my websites.
