December 2, 1997 Dear Santa-- This is what I'd like for Christmas, if it isn't too much trouble: My own custom terraformed planet. A "Dreaming" Machine, which will interface not only with my conscious mind, but also with my subconscious mind, my dreams, and my memory, and let me record all the things I imagine. An industrial replicator which can make anything I want it to.   I'll use this to furnish the planet. A well-indexed library of everything.   Yeah, you heard me.   Everything.   All books, art, plants, animals, things, a pattern-recording of everything ever created in the universe. A good AI to help me browse the library and to keep me company. A portable transporter with no distance limits so I can go anywhere I want to whenever I want and also go visit my friends anytime. A universal, instantaneous internet connection and a server and personal computer to match. An FTL starship to cruise around in when I wanna just drive around the universe. A cold fusion reactor. A Bolo Mark XXXIII, a plasma rifle, and a suit of powered armor. And a siamese kitten. Thanks! --Ginkgo Mark is too cute.   Yesterday evening as I went past the living room he calls out, "The new Victoria's Secret catalog is here."   I change course towards him to look at it and he says, "I'll be done with it in a little while."   I grinned and left him to the scantily clad, surgically-enhanced lovelies.   Reminds me of breast implants--I love breast implants provided they're not implanted.   In college, one of my profs had one on his desk--a souvenir of shots he'd done for a product catalog, his desk was littered with all kinds of toys and junk.   Rand would let me borrow it and I'd go walking around with it tucked into one of my bra cups.   I'd tell people I'd only had one done first to see whether I liked it, and ask their opinion.   Or I'd put it in the middle and see how long it took people to notice that I had three breasts.   Great toys, breast implants.   I used to do that in high school, too, when I had an orange sent along for lunch.   Sometimes there were balloons--from someone's physics class maybe?--and I'd stick one to my head with static electricity and wait until someone would ask, "Did you know there's a balloon stuck to your head?"   To which I'd reply, "Yes, did you know that there's an orange in my bra?"   One day Jon and I decided to wear our pajamas to school.   His parents caught him, but mine didn't catch me.   hehe.   We got so bored in high school.
