There are twelve signs in the Chinese zodiac, and five elements: Metal, Earth, Fire, Water, and Wood.
Details about how each element influences the different zodiac signs will be on the Chinese zodiac pages I'm working
on right now. When I've got a beta page finished for the Tiger, I'll put the link here so you can read more
detailed information about Tigers and about how the different elements modify their personalities. Here's a basic Chinese-restaurant-place-mat type of description for Tigers: "Tiger people are aggressive, courageous, candid and sensitive. You are hotheaded but have a magnetic character hard to resist. You love to take chances and rebel against authority. Look to the Horse and Dog for happiness. Beware of the Monkey." 1997 is the Year of the Ox, here's how Tigers are expected to fare in 1997, according to Theodora Lau's book, The Handbook of Chinese Horoscopes: "A mixed year. Quarrels and misunderstandings result from stubbornness. The Tiger may feel frustrated because he is hindered from getting his way by someone in authority. It would be advisable for the Tiger to curb his rebelliousness at this time. His troubles will work themselves out before the year is over, if he can hold his temper for that long."
