There are twelve signs in the Chinese zodiac, and five elements: Metal, Earth, Fire, Water, and Wood.   Detailed information about Dragons and how each element influences Dragons can be found on my Year of the Dragon page.   So far I've only got that page optimized for 600x800 on my 17" monitor, and it looks awful most other resolutions, so you might want to turn images off to view this if you're using another resolution.   I'll get around to fixing that eventually....

Here's a basic Chinese-restaurant-place-mat type of description for Dragons:

"You are eccentric, and your life complex. You have a very passionate nature and abundant health. Bursting with health and vitality you are tenacious, sincere and generous. Quick of temper you are quick to forgive. Marry a Monkey or Rat late in life. Avoid the Dog."

1997 is the Year of the Ox, here's how Dragons are expected to fare in 1997, according to Theodora Lau's book, The Handbook of Chinese Horoscopes:

"A fortunate year for the Dragon.   Although progress is moderate, he should consider himself lucky as the numerous disputes and troubles that go on around him will not affect him directly.   A protected time in which he will not be involved in many difficulties and his family life will be free of interference."
