There are twelve signs in the Chinese zodiac, and five elements: Metal, Earth, Fire, Water, and Wood.
Details about how each element influences the different zodiac signs will be on the Chinese zodiac pages I'm working
on right now. When I've got a beta page finished for the Boar, I'll put the link here so you can read more
detailed information about Boars and about how the different elements modify their personalities. Here's a basic Chinese-restaurant-place-mat type of description for Boars: "Noble and chivalrous. Your friends will be lifelong, yet you are prone to marital strife. Gallant, confident and very sincere in all you do, you are also a bit naive and innocent. You company is desired by all who recongnize your honesty and integrity. Avoid other Boars. Marry a Rabbit or a Sheep." 1997 is the Year of the Ox, here's how Boars are expected to fare in 1997, according to Theodora Lau's book, The Handbook of Chinese Horoscopes: "A good year for the Boar. Good prospects are evident and the Boar is able to tap hidden resources or start his own business. His gambles or hunches could pay off handsomely. Problems are not large or troublesome but there could be complications in romance or family affairs."
